Our October theme is Magic. And where better to practice yours than in a poem?
The poem Magician—which ran recently at Every Day Poems, pairs magic with cooking. It says…
You should see me
here at the stove,
shaking things
into the soup pot,
flicking salt and pepper
like fairy dust
over the bubbles rising…

Your Pour
Get your favorite steep (or brew) and join us in writing a poem with a bit of magic in it. You can use cooking imagery, or you can go your own way entirely and surprise us with something else. Title your poem “Magician” if you like, or another word associated with the concept of magic. We can’t wait to read!
