Save What Speaks
At Every Day Poems, we’re always looking to share “poems with possibility.” Sometimes these arrive to you as whole poems. But other times, maybe even oftentimes, there’s just a piece of a poem that powerfully speaks to you. This is a great invitation to bookmark the words.
Once you create your bookmark, you can… put it in a book. Or post it on your fridge. Or mail it to a friend. Be sure to take a photograph, too. And that way you’ll have a lovely record of your play.
How to Bookmark Your Poem Quote
1. Copy down the “possibility” part of the poem. You can easily see lines at Every Day Poems.
2. Cut out a bookmark from paper that has a little body. Watercolor or drawing paper can work well.
3. Decorate your bookmark. Or just go simple and write the text. Either way, this is your chance to save the words.
4. Share your play with the Every Day Poems poetry club community. We’d love to see!

Such a fun invitation to get hands-on with poetry (and potentially color). 🙂

I hope you enjoy playing, Bethany!
This was inspired by Laura Brown’s bookmark making. I do need to re-share the ones she made for the Tweetspeak Mariandale retreat. 🙂
