There’s an old joke, often credited to Bob Hope, that goes something like, “I just flew in from National Poetry Month, and boy, are my arms tired.” Of course, old Twinkle Toes would have said something like New York or Los Angeles. But after a month of celebrating the joy of poetry, many of us are apt to feel just as tired as the otherwise tireless entertainer would claim to be after his long, arm-flapping flight.
So how much better can it be that the next great poetry celebration can happen practically in your sleep?
Today is Poem on Your Pillow Day!
Now you can let out a big sigh of relief and make someone’s day by sharing poetry in the dreamiest of ways: just put a poem on the pillow of a friend or loved one (and even on your child’s pillow at bedtime).
You can write out your own poem, or use one from our past celebrations’ printable Poem on Your Pillow Day collection, which includes poems for:
The Romantic
The Poetic Parent
The Good Friend
The Mischief Maker
The Weary Traveler
… and more!
Or if you’d rather create your own pillow poem surprises, try some of these poems:
funny poems
rose poems
chocolate poems
chicken poems
love poems
red poems
question poems
fairy tale poems
coloring page poems
