By Will Willingham 4 Comments

Poetry on Two Sides of the Pond
Next week marks the biggest week in poetry since popsicle stick poets lined up and marched on workplaces around the globe in July.

Tweetspeak is teaming up with the Forward Arts Foundation to celebrate poetry on two sides of the pond. Britain’s National Poetry Day takes place on October 6 this year. And, we’re celebrating our second annual Random Acts of Poetry Day on October 5.

You can start sharing the the joy of poetry on two sides of the pond right now with our fun shareable graphics and audio of Christina Rossetti’s “Up-Hill.” Download to your heart’s content and spread the word on your favorite social media channels.

I used to be a claims adjuster, helping people and insurance companies make sense of loss. Now, I train other folks with ladders and tape measures to go and do likewise. Sometimes, when I’m not scaling small buildings or crunching numbers with my bare hands, I read Keats upside down. My first novel, Adjustments, is available now.

There is no need for an explanation for the chicken poets. They are simply brilliant.

The fairest (and funniest) fowl I ever did see, in celebration of poetry! 🙂

These are so delightful. And Ann’s reading is lovely.

I think I might do something with Kay Ryan’s chicken poem “Home to Roost” on RAOP Day, with a nod to the inexplicable chicken poets, whom I imagine trying to snap-applaud with their little feathertips.

Ann Kroeker, I think you could have a career voicing audiobooks.

My serious reading seems to contradict the lighthearted graphics.
