By Will Willingham 9 Comments

*Editor’s Note: Watch for the free downloadable 2016 poster, coming soon. Poetry at Work Day is celebrated on the 2nd Tuesday in January. In 2016, that’s January 12.

Poetry at Work Day is coming January 13, 2015

January 13, 2015, is just around the corner and marks the third annual Poetry at Work Day observance. Don’t wait for poetry to come in search of you, but take poetry to work.

This year’s official poster, suitable for hanging in your workplace (or framing in your kitchen, which may even be your workplace), is available for order now through December 1. Posters will ship the first week of December.

Put it on your calendar. Pick your celebration style. And thank Slice Magazine and Scratch Magazine for co-sponsoring this international event! (We’re so pleased to have them along.)

Our free poster by mail offer ended December 1. See below for additional Poetry at Work Day resources, and printable posters you can download and display in your workplace.

    Don’t tamper with poetry
    in a pressurized container.
    Don’t spew out lines
    like aerosol hairspray making
all those strands stiff and sticky.
Read and write into an open glass jar,
no pressure, exposed to the air.
Ignore the label saying “Best Before”
this date or that. The words
don’t expire; you can taste them,
    timeless.

Aw. 🙂 We would love to do that in the future as funds make it possible to ship internationally! We’ll have plenty of other goodies for you as the day gets closer though, that you can access here at Tweetspeak, to warm up the northern workday.

How grand that my daughter sent me how to get to your site. With over 2000 poems written, many published, readings in Paris and Spain, National Gold Medals in Veterans Creative Poetry contest, PBS performance of my “Shadow Under the Bridge”, NPR readings… I enjoy daily publishings of my poems…

Please let me know of the rules to present some of my poem.

    Thank you so much,

Add a link here, to some of your NPR readings? We’d love to see.

So sorry that they can’t be ordered. We’ll have a downloadable one available soon that you could print.

And, if you check out the post above now, you’ll see we’re offering a free copy of our book ‘Poetry at Work’ and a mug-for-purchase that has the same art and quote as the poster 🙂
