Memoir Workshop: Let It Make All the Difference

NOW SOLD OUT. Contact Us to be put on a waiting list for future workshops.

Looking to get your memoir published? Or explore memoir techniques, as a form of personal journey?

This might be the workshop for you.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by…

Memoir isn’t autobiography (someone has said it’s autobiography without the boring bits).

In writing a personal journey, what to leave out is as important as what to include. Knowing what’s relevant to your story is a deep investigation into the heart of what first convinced you of your story’s power. What went into it? How should you share that experience?

Ultimately, memoir is oversimplification that allows you to focus on specific insights to inspire your life and the lives of others. A key to success is how well authors allow their work to surprise and teach them.

In Tweetspeak’s 2013 Memoir Workshop, we’ll look at personal stories, tone, perspective, voice and using creative points of view. We’ll discuss parameters, what to cut, and defining your story arc.

Your memoir—a sort of “meandering with a purpose”—could uncover a new path through the woods of life. We hope it will make all the difference.

Included In the Workshop

Private online group setting and all class materials, including a free digital copy of Rumors of Water: Thoughts on Creativity & Writing.

Online memoir workshop with editor Mick Silva. Mick has served as an editor at Waterbrook/Random House.
