This month’s theme is Mother, so it feels apt to have a tea date with L.L. Barkat’s motherhood poem Due to the Loss of Field Roast Artisan Grain Sausage.
One of the most fun parts of the poem is its title:
“Due to the Loss of Field Roast Artisan Grain Sausage”
Once the title sets up the situation, the poem then recounts an exchange between mother and daughter, due to the “loss.”
Your Pour
Get your favorite steep (or brew) and join us in writing a poem whose title begins “Due to the Loss of…” or, conversely, “Due to the Gain of…” Then, depending on the loss or gain, tell a story of an exchange between two family members or friends that is a direct response to the loss or gain.
