What Color is Your Poem?

By L.L. Barkat 7 Comments

Lavender-Grey

I looked into light,
and I found color
where grey was.

Does light take grey
and warm it up with color,
like singers wake vocal chords
before the song?

Is every song grey
warmed over to lavender?

And if life is a song,
is dull life lavender
when the sun shines in?

This feature of Kelly Sauer’s Lavender-Grey is part of the collaborative color writing and photo project hosted by TheHighCalling (see Claire’s Royal Colour Watch) and Tweetspeak’s Cataloging the Color of Your World.

WOW – that shot looks amazing on the black! Thank you soooo much for the feature! I wasn’t sure how good my catalog poem was; I was totally winging it! I’m so excited!

The images of lavender are especially lovely against the black background. Great photoplay, Kelly.

Kelly, your words fit so beautifully with your images — soft and gentle and dappled with wonder. I love the idea of sun warming “dull life” to lavender. Like breathing in the scent of lilacs on a rainy spring day.

Kelly, you continue to inspire in a soft and hushed way. Beautiful work everyone. We are vubrant and shining for Him†
