Daily Dose (Whenever We Feel Like It)

Daily Dose 1

We might do this just for today. Maybe we’ll do it on Tuesday. Maybe you’ll have to wait two weeks for your next Daily Dose. Lyla and I can be that way. You should see our email exchanges.

Well, okay, this is based on one of our email exchanges. This is what we talked about today, after Lyla came tromping into my kitchen with her wet boots at 8 a.m. to discuss an editorial matter.

It is a dangerous thing to do business with me (Princess LL). Next thing you know you are doing an impetuous version of a Daily Dose, where your readers never know when the next edition will actually appear.

  1. Jody Collins says:

So, princess LL, whaddja talk about? my curiosity is duly peaked. (peeked?)
oh, piqued. got it.thank God for that English degree.

  2. L. L. Barkat says:

I don’t know how this started. I think it might have been Lyla’s fault. She was showing me a Notecards comic, and I showed her a Physics comic (or I said I would, but I don’t think I came through with it, because I got sidetracked when she sent me this).

Lyla, what the heck were we talking about? :)

  3. It can be hard for me to follow. Like a Tweetspeak party.

There was Sara and the comic, and getting you on TED only we’d need scaffolding to hold up the gold ceiling, and something about hair and makeup that went right over my un-girly head, and the idea that hearing you laugh even if it’s only one of the voices in my head just makes me really happy.

    Something like that.

  4. There really is no other explanation for the things I find myself doing lately.

  5. Diana B. says:

Huh? Still fuzzy even after the explanation. I think we are not meant to get this one. I won’t tell you my husband’s interpretation. :)

  6. Diana B. says:

Yet..I am curious. What is the big round think at the top?
    A Hot Air Balloon?
    A Basketball?
    a Pregnant Belly?

  7. L. L. Barkat says:

    Which part is fuzzy? ;-)

I’d like to hear his interpretation. That’s part of the fun of these. If we told you everything, you’d have nothing to add. It’s communal humor. Go ahead, put something in the spoon :)

  8. L. L. Barkat says:

    Diana! Love it.

I think we’ll ask others to chime in before answering that question.

  9. Perhaps I’ll have to annotate the next one with the big red arrows like I did my office photo last week to identify the key elements.

  10. davis says:

just look at the two of them together
red tongues and sticky syrup in their hair
some on the spoon and down the front of their shirts
thinking that we might want to dose e dō

  11. Ah, but I only see one – with a pony tail and a gigantic spoon, floating above life in a hot air balloon, which is almost off screen. Perhaps she is spreading laughter over all she surveys…

  12. Anna says:

That pink thing? Well, doesn’t every princess need a pink antebellum hoop skirt? (And, in a color that matches her pink limo)?
    :-)

  13. By the way, L&L is also the name of a Hawaiian BBQ restaurant chain. So you made me hungry.
